About T Mobile

We compare all the best mobile phone deals from all the big retailers, taking all the hassle out of finding your perfect deal and making your life awesomely easy. We’ll help you make the best, most informed decision and give you everything you need, including all the info on T-Mobile.

T-Mobile have always been one of the big networks in the UK, part of the elite club known as the ‘big five’. Because of that, they have access to a whole range of exclusive mobile phones to offer you something you can’t get anywhere else!

First up from T-Mobile is the MDA Touch. This super-powerful Windows Mobile phone takes the concept of a smartphone and puts that power at your fingertips with an interface optimised to use touch controls. Ok, you CAN use a stylus if you want to, but, when it’s so easy to access the phone’s features with the merest brush of your fingertips, why would you want to?

At the other end of the smartphone market is one for the younger user, a smartphone for teens, if you like. If you’ve ever watched any American teen drama, you’ll have seen something similar as it’s the T-Mobile Sidekick Slide. In the American-late-teen market (and with Paris Hilton), Sidekicks are some of the biggest sellers with things like built-in Yahoo! Messenger and loads of cool communication features.

It’s not just mobiles phones that T-Mobile have on their network, they also have mobile broadband. They were one of the earliest networks to take up this world-changing internet solution. Using a T-Mobile USB Modem, you can get online on your laptop and get speeds rivalling those of home broadband connections! It’s the real internet wherever you are, without having to hunt out WiFi hotspots or worry about how you’re going to get online!

The history of T Mobile

In 1993, a new frequency band was opened up for new mobile phones to broadcast on. This meant a new network but that network wasn’t T-Mobile, it was actually One2One, the network that would later become T-Mobile. The key difference is that One2One were essentially useless whereas T-Mobile are brilliant.

That, by the way, is what T-Mobile have said many times themselves, even acknowledging that One2One wasn’t great. The thing is though, are T-Mobile SO much better! When the change first happened, just after Deutsche Telekom bought up the company, there were some sceptics, but T-Mobile convinced them almost immediately. They turned into one of the most forward-looking, innovative and cool networks ever seen!

Under T-Mobile’s magenta (not pink!) bonnet, you’ll find a network with super-fast data access letting you get online at super-fast speeds on your mobile phones. You’ll find tariffs that give you Blackberry access for tons and tons of emails wherever you are. You’ll find MyFaves deals, that give you unlimited calls, texts and pictures to your 5 favourite numbers. You’ll also find, with an internet speed that’s so fast, mobile broadband. In fact, T-Mobile were one of the first (if not THE first) networks to pick up mobile broadband and run with it, offering that service that’s changing the world.

See? Told you they’re forward thinking!
