O2 records record number for new year texters

The number of text messages sent during the new years celebrations reached a record level this year for one network.
According to O2, between 07:30 GMT on New Years Eve and the same time on January 1st, an estimated 166 million SMS messages were sent in total via its users mobile phones and devices.
