We all know there’s one thing Motorola are famous for, nowadays. You know it, we know it, it’s the name RAZR. The newest, coolest version of that Motorola RAZR series is the Motorola RAZR2 V8. Taking the ultra-thin (oh ok, razor-thin) styling of its predecessors, and packing them with cool features like a 2 megapixel camera, external touch controls and tons of media options, it takes the Motorola RAZR into the next generation.

Of course, if you don’t like that ultra-thin look, then the funky Motorola U9 is one of the coolest phones we’ve ever seen, the latest of the Motorola PEBL range, that make you just want to skim them across a pond (Don’t, though. Just because it’s aerodynamic, doesn’t mean the electrics will survive a dunking). It’s also riddled with fabulous features, including one of the best music players available…..anywhere.

Maybe you prefer smartphones, though, and in that case, you’d do well to check out the Motorola RIZR Z8. Why? Because it’s built using the same Symbian UIQ software as Sony Ericsson’s top-end smartphones, meaning you get all the coolness of having smartphone features, in a unique sliding AND bending body.

The history of Motorola

Where would we be without Motorola? We certainly wouldn’t have the mobile world we recognise now, because the first proper mobile phone, the first one we’d recognise as being a proper mobile phone, was a Motorola! It’s hardly surprising, really, because a very, very big proportion of Motorola’s devices have always been radio-related. Car stereos, walkie-talkies… you know the drill.

Motorola is perhaps best-known, nowadays, for the RAZR phone, the V3. That changed the landscape of how phones were looked at, proving to the world, and all the other manufacturers that thin was the future. It didn’t hurt Motorola’s sales either, because roughly 110 million Motorola RAZR phones have been sold since then, and it continues to be sold even today!

However, some have criticised Motorola for not straying from that RAZR line since then, and to be fair, they may have a point. But then, when Motorola introduced the RIZR line, people moaned about that, so really, you can’t win! At the end of the day, Motorola make beautiful phones that are just packed with cool features, and you can’t say fairer than that!
